Pretending to be someone you’re not so you fit in

I’ve just been reading my previous blogs and realise what a dullard I’ve become.
I’m acting as if I’m still in the corporate world, feeling I have to mask my personality and talking about things that I actually care little about.

So, from now on it’s back to the person I actually am.

If there’s anyone else out there who feels they’re playing a part and they’ve forgotten who they actually are, email me jeanette@jeanettesargent.co.uk.

Pensions or Growth?

It would seem that a number of companies (KCOM is in the press today) are altering pension schemes so that they can have money in the coffers.
Clearly Unions and employees won’t be partying at this news but if it genuinely is a choice between keeping your job now or havign a decent pension at a later date then there’s not much of a competition.

However, many employees may not see it this way. It is actually quite difficult to see logical arguments when you feel under threat.

If you want your employees to feel happier about it, then the fine art of persuasion is called for. Sometimes people actually need someone to sit down with them and get the employee to look at the options and decide which is best. People are often very afraid of risk and they may think the only risk is the pension while not understanding it could save their job.

ut it’s also not right just to use the economy as an excuse to change something you’ve always wanted to and not had the guts to do. Many people can see through this and it’s not going to make them jump up and down at the prospect of work every day.

On the Rails – Redundancy when there’s no money in the coffers

Today, according to the Yorkshire Post. It looks likely that the once mighty Jarvis of the Rail Engineering world will be unable to pay its staff any redundancy pay.

Their Union; The RMT are obviously distraught about this as are the employees themselves (and undoubtedly their families). I used to live opposite someone who worked for Jarvis. They had had a lovely house and family. I thought Jarvis were mega stars. It’s sad how things have changed in the current times.

If you’re worried about redundancy, you might fear losing your job or you’re an employer who’s got to make some cuts. Please, get in touch. I can help you find a new career or can help you manage the process.

What’s more I will gladly coach 3 people for free, yes that’s worth £265 per session but is yours for free. This applies to organisations as well as individuals but hurry, this offer only lasts until the 15th July.

It’s never too late to plan your next move. Let’s look at the options. I can strongly recommend reading Geoff Burch’s books on setting up businesses if you’re brave and ready for something new.

Is coaching a load of tosh?

Thinking about coaching – but you’re still unsure?

Maybe you’ve heard:
• It’s expensive
• It’s hassle
• It’s just for wimps
• It’s all tosh
These excuses are made by the ‘humdrum many’, who’ll never be able to grab their life by the scruff of the neck and turn it around.
The truth is, not everyone knows how to transform their lives. And even less realise it has nothing to do with how much your take home pay is. But money is a good place to start:
Perhaps you’re worried you won’t gel with your coach and your money would have been better spent elsewhere?

No doubt if you’ve read so far, you are wondering what qualifies me to coach.
Well, I’ve been coaching for the last 15 years and have Level 5 and 7 in Executive and Individual Coaching from the Institute of Leadership and Management.
Whilst the qualifications may not mean much to most, it does mean I know all the models of coaching and been assessed in live sessions.
And of course, I invest in my own training, attend seminars and have coaching by the most well known coaches possible.
Who do I help? I do personal and corporate coaching.

Whatever is keeping you awake at night – I can help find the right thing for you to do.

Perhaps you’re after a promotion – or a new job – but are afraid to take the next step. I can help YOU banish this fear.
You may not be getting on as well as you would like with your boss, your wife, your husband, your partner or someone else.

I can help YOU resolve this, leaving you feeling so much happier.
Or perhaps you are responsible for a team and performance needs to improve? Or maybe you’re just a responsible employer who knows the benefits of a happy team.
I can help YOU do all this.
• In fact, where ever the gaps are in your life, I can show you to fill them
• Get a great job
• Improve your performance
• Have a better relationship with your partner,
• Follow your passion
• Get the work/life balance right
• Overcome stress

And don’t forget – the first session is free. So you have nothing to lose. Why not email me right now – or pick up the phone – and we can an action plan together. I won’t cost you a penny and you’ll see how I can help you get the most out of life.
