Hot from the Kiln (this is clearly me trying to be clever instead of saying Hot off the Press).
My jewellery is now available to buy in No 10 The Coffee House in Haworth at the bottom of the cobbled main street.
Claire is doing a cracking job of selling my jewellery to her loyal customers who come regularly to eat the absolutely delicious cake.
A few more words are really needed to describe the cake here. It’s yummy (no skinny muffins here) and there are lots to choose from. I once even took a portion home as well as eating some on the spot (and couldn’t sleep owing to a sugar high).
My husband who is almost as picky as me thinks No 10 has the best customer service of anywhere (and he likes some fancy pant places). Claire will even grind the coffee up for you to savur the aroma before drinking it. It is divine and now on a Thursday to Sunday you can sample cake and buy my jewellery.
Note to tourists: some places in Haworth do open Monday – Wednesday but No 10 is the best, so if you can wait it is worth it. Come from 1230 though as Haworth does not seem to keep the opening times of a city like Leeds. |
2010 EVENTS AND FAYRES
These are my confirmed fayres for 2010. There are more to come. I am always on the lookout for fayres so please feel free to recommend any.
For my customers in the lovely South of England, please do let me know of any fayres. Sometimes I do leave the safe shores of Yorkshire to return to my place of birth (well to London anyway which isn’t that far). There’s one near Nottingham so far!!
2nd – 5th April, St Sampson’s Square, York, in the Made in Yorkshire marquee outside Brown’s Department Store.
PLEASE come along as the 5th is my BIRTHDAY and I love celebrating anything!!! I will even give you a discount on the 5th as it’s my Birthday.
22nd – 25th April – Harrogate Spring Flower Show at the Yorkshire Showground.
The 23rd is my sister’s Birthday. Now, it’s unlikely she’ll pop along on her Birthday as being in her 20s she has so many exciting things to do and see. However, I will give you a discount on this day to celebrate her Birthday as she is a lovely and kind sister.
23rd May
A return to The Main Furniture Company which is in the lovely village of Green Hammerton. It’s strongly supported by locals and has its own car park.
Last time there was a stall selling Butterfly Buns for 25p – wow!! Clearly I bought hundreds and managed to save one of them for my husband (possibly!)
10th – 13th June – Patchings Festival, in the Made in Yorkshire area at the Patchings Art Centre, Calverton, Nottinghamshire.
Again, it would be great to see you as I will be leaving my dog (and husband) at home so may feel homesick, it may bring back memories of Boarding School when my parents lived in Holland.
A happy smiling face will cheer me up no end.
13th – 15th July – The Great Yorkshire Show, in the Made in Yorkshire marquee at the Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate.
Another fayre in the gorgeous town I hope to move to (I am saving my pennies so I can do this).
17th – 19th September – Harrogate Autumn Flower Show at the Yorkshire Showground.
All of my pals will be here too like Oakwood Aromatics selling their lovely soap and massage bars. Their stuff is gorgeous and natural.
24th and 25th September – The Fashion and Gift Fair at the Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate. Stand 111. I’m looking forward to this as last year I was whisked off to St Tropez. The year before it was wonderful!! Plus, it’s inside and that makes it so much warmer than the marquee.
28th – 31st October, St Sampson’s Square, York, in the Made in Yorkshire marquee outside Brown’s Department Store.
Come along and see my stall spookily dressed for Halloween. What’s more on the 31st I will have Halloween cakes for you to munch as a thank YOU with each piece of jewellery you purchase).
11th – 14th November, Crafts for Christmas in the Made in Yorkshire area at the Yorkshire Showground.
Please please come along. This fayre is uber expensive for stallholders so I need to sell lots of goodies. As a thank you, I will gift wrap all items for free (if you want me to of course).
Another thing about this show is there is some amazing talent on display (I mean creativity… not Brad Pitt). I bought four amazing wooden apples last year (albeit from a grumpy chops, but talented all the same). Plus, lots of gifts like cupcake teapots, silk scarves and more.
25th – 28th November, St Nicholas Fayre in York. This one’s with Made in Yorkshire but in the Guildhall (handy location as VERY near Betty’s). I love this fayre as it feels really festive and some lovely people come from all over the country.
2nd – 12th December, St Sampson’s Square, York, in the Made in Yorkshire marquee outside Brown’s Department Store.
I said I wouldn’t do this fayre again as was too long plus had to make things til 4 in the morning and get up at 6 so was a tad tired. What’s more, I didn’t book a corner stand so every time I needed to leave my stall there was only a tiny space and my VERY ample bottom kept knocking my glass lights off.
However, it’s the fayre I do the best at and I’m hoping Liz’s daughter (the talented lady behind Stitches tops and t-shirts) will help out. Her daughter is called Jade and shares the same name as my cutey pie doggie so she must be a nice girl.
